George Argo: General Manager

Argo is himself a former Inter United youth player, playing with the club from 2002 to 2007.  He is a 2010 graduate of the University of Washington, having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

“It’s a great opportunity for me.  I’ve always wanted to be more involved in the community,” Argo added.  “We are going to be competitive and put a good product on the field.”

Argo went on to gain years of valuable experience in the business management field, recently serving as a branch manager for Key Bank. His plans for the team include engaging the community and growing the sport statewide. 

Scott Elston: First Team Head Coach

He has been coaching youth soccer in the state of Washington for the past 12 years.  Most recently he has served as head coach at Rainier Beach HS and president of the TUSK Soccer Club.  The youth program at TUSK Soccer Club is incredibly diverse, featuring 290 players from 20 different countries and a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.     

“I’m extremely honored to be the first-ever head coach for Inter United’s NPSL squad,” Elston remarked.  “The chance to continue directing players after high school is incredibly exciting.  Our main objective is to help them get to the next level.”

Shawn Henry: Operational Manager

Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Shawn has a vast and varied resume, beginning with the SYSA U17 Girls in San Diego in 1991.  Shawn has also worked with the Orange Park YMCA boys teams as well as Clay County Soccer club in Florida.  He has also worked with the US Navy and coached teams from the USS Carl Vinson, which won the international Col Usher Armed Forces Soccer tournament in 1998.  Shawn’s experience also includes South County Football Club,Trinity Lutheran College as an assistant, Tyne-castle FC U23 Head Coach, and MRFC U15 & U16 Head Coach.  He holds an NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma and a Level 1 Coaching Certification from the English FA.  

Shawn has also traveled the world through soccer and has coached teams that competed in East Asia and Northern Iraq, where he helped develop a local soccer league as a means of bringing local communities together, and to help combat insurgent infiltrations of local villages.  Shawn began playing soccer in Trinidad & Tobago at the Mucurapo Boys R.C. School and Mucurapo Jr Secondary School and Ross Land United.  His playing success also earned him the privilege of representing Trinidad & Tobago at the U16 level. Read More.
